What is love?
Baby don’t hurt me
Don’t hurt me
I don’t know why you’re not fair
I give you my love, but you don’t care
So what is right and what is wrong?

That was me singing when I was dealing with that crazy Zbrush interface during our 3d modelling classes with Sean. Suffering from hangover, malnutrition and god knows what else, I’ve been trying to model in Zbrush with no success using the mouse only and I would get results like these:
Which I think is actually a pretty accurate representation of a cancer cell. But we’re not doing MSc in Medical Animation, right?
So after I got my hands on the tablet things got clearer and I’ve managed to sculpt a vague representation of my face with no hair.
And I think this is how love builds up. After figuring out that wacky interface I started to enjoy 3d modelling (a thing I wouldn’t imagine saying out loud recently)!
After browsing through tonnes of tutorials I would recommend Zbrush tutorials by Michael Pavlovich (here’s a Youtube link).
So I find myself experimenting and playing around with Dynamesh, divisions, and different brushes Zbrush has to offer and the process is so enjoyable, I can’t even describe it, It’s like discovering drawing for the first time in your life!
Here’s some crazy abstract stuff that I just made in 20 minutes by messing around with brushes:
So yeah, looking forward to learning texturing and retopologizing models from Zbrush and will never return to modelling in Maya EVER AGAIN! =) I hope…
